About GCE Lawyers

History of the Company

GCE Lawyers was established and set up, in Marbella on the Costa del Sol, by Eva Garcia Cantero and David Eweis.

Marbella and the Costa de Sol have a very cosmopolitan population and is in its majority European and International which suited the varied backgrounds of the partners. With Eva being originally from Marbella and Andalucía it gives the company a perfect understanding of the local legal and administrative system. And with David having such a varied international background and experience it allows the company to also be familiar with international procedures and principles. This combination of experiences and backgrounds was behind the creation of GCE Lawyers where excellent knowledge of the local law is combined with international experience. All lawyers in the Law Firm are fully registered in Spanish Bar Associations.

The team of lawyers is always at the forefront of the changing laws and is constantly learning and updating their knowledge to give a satisfactory response to any legal enquiry.

Faces Behind the Company

Eva Garcia Cantero

Born in Marbella and belonging to a well known family in the City, Eva studied law in the University of Malaga. She obtained a Masters Degree in company tax assessment after which she finished the practical two years course in the Bar association. She is a fully registered member in the Bar Association of Malaga and practiced law in a well known law firm in Marbella before opening her own office. She also spent a year in the United Kingdom learning English and gaining knowledge of the British legal system. Eva is fluent in English and has 10 years of experience in practicing law in Spain.

David Eweis

Born in 1966 in the city of Jerusalem, his father was the Chancellor of the Spanish Consulate and at 18 he travelled to Spain and studied law in the University of Deusto (a Jesuits private university in Bilbao, considered one of the best in Spain). He speaks five languages and is a fully registered member in the Bar Association of Madrid among other Bar Associations. He has a master degree in conflict resolution by peaceful means and 15 years of experience in the practice of law in different jurisdictions.

Ignacio Arredondo

Born in Granada, Ignacio finished his law degree in the University of Granada and obtained a Master degree in Urbanism and Real Estate Market. He worked in several law firms specializing in court litigation and procedures after finishing the special practical two years course in the bar association. He did several other courses in different areas and with 15 years of experience he is an expert in court litigation in civil, criminal and administrative departments.
